Budgam Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested 03 Notorious Drug Peddlers and recovered 103 KGs of Poppy Straw (FUKKI)at the Sholipora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Police sources told The Kashmiriyat that during naka checking at Sholipora Budgam, a police party of police station Budgam intercepted one vehicle Mahindra Maxi Truck bearing registration number (JK05J-7919 )with three persons on board, police party signalled them to stop, instead of stopping the vehicle they tried to escape from the spot, police chased them and overpowered the Vehicle near TATA brickkiln.
They said that during the search of the said Vehicle 103 Kg’s of Poppy Straw (Fukki) like substance was recovered from modified hidden chambers lying in the base of the body of the vehicle.
A senior police officer identified the arrested drug peddlers as Mohammad Sultan Bhat S/O Ghulam Qadir Bhat and Abdul Hameed Dar S/O Ghulam Mohammad Dar both residents of Sholipora Budgam and Ghulam Nabi Dar S/O Mohammad Shafi Dar R/O Gulistan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district
Accordingly, Case FIR number 241/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been taken up.
