Mother collapses while singing at ‘Mehandirat’ of her son in Pulwama, Dies

A woman died after she collapsed while singing in her son's wedding in the Murran area of south Kashmir's Pulwama’s district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Haneefa Banoo, a resident of Pulwama's Murran was singing on a standing mic on the Mehdiraat of her son, when she suddenly collapsed in the tent. They said that the other women in the tent surprised at what was happening took it as a normal gesture, but when she did not get up for a few seconds, the locals rushed her to the nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. The incident has created a grief across Kashmir and a video from the incident has gone viral across social media.

A Minor girl has been allegedly raped after being kidnapped by two person's near the Raily bridge in Hassanpora area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that the Railway Police in Anantnag have started investigations in a case of kidnapping and rape. The teenager was allegedly kidnapped on Wednesday evening when she was on her way home. The girl was initially spotted with two men inside a hut of the Railway Department when a GRPS was conducting routine track clearance. For 12 years, Pulwama villagers wait for restoration of filtration plant

The filtration plant in Ukhoo village of Kakapora belt of south Kashmir’s Pulwama has been out of order for the last 12 years, forcing the locals to drink contaminated water. They told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a water supply scheme as well as a water filtration plant was set up by the Jal Shakti Department in the village in 2006 and it was inaugurated by then MLA Pampore Zahoor Ahmed Mir. But the filtration plant has been defunct for the last 12 years and people drink contaminated water often leading to health issues. A police constable, who was shot at and injured in Gudoora area of Pulwama on Friday morning, succumbed to his injuries, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that suspected militants on Friday morning fired upon a constable namely Riyaz Ahmad Thoker, son of Ali Mohammad Thoker from Gudoora. He said that Thoker after receiving bullet injuries, was rushed to district hospital Pulwama for treatment where from he was shifted to Army base hospital However, he succumbed to his injuries at Army base hospital, he said. Body of a 24-year-old youth was inside an auto rickshaw at Cheeni Chowk area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday. Official sources told GNS that the soon after information, police took the body in its custody and shifted it to GMC Anantnag. The youth was later identified as Tehseen Gul son of Gul Mohammad Darzi of Malknag Anantnag. A police official told GNS that proceedings have been launched. Hilal Ahmed Bhat, his father told The Kashmiriyat that Yasir his son, who is 15 years old has been missing since 05 May 2022. Yasir Ahmad Bhat who is a student of class 9th in Delhi Public School in Anantnag had left home for s picnic after which he did not return home. "On the third day of Eid, he wanted to go for picnic. Suhail Dar One Militant has been killed during the ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in the Batakot area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday morning. Earlier an official told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday morning 3 RR of the Indian Army, 116 Battalion of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint launched a cordon and search operation in the Sirchand forest area of Pahalgam's Batakot division. During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said. During the exchange of gunfire, one unidentified militant has been killed and the operation is still going on as more militants are believed to be trapped.

03 LeT militants killed Pulwama gunfight: Police

Three militants of Lashkar-i-Toiba oufit were killed in a gunfight at Pahoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday, an official said. A senior police officer while confirming to GNS that three militants of LeT have been killed. Earlier a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
