August 29 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in the Muran area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Wednesday Night. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces including 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the Muran area. Locals said that a heavy contingent of Forces have reached the area and are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation was going on when this report was filed.

Unidentified Gunmen abduct son of Policeman in Tral

August 29 Unknown gunmen late night on Wednesday kidnapped the son of a policeman in Pinglish area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Asif Ahmed Rather son of Rafiq Ahmed Rather has been kidnapped late night on Wednesday by unidentified Gunmen. Asif as per reports is a student at kashmir university. The Jammu Kashmir police has started investigation and has started a search operation to find the kidnapped son of a policeman. The abduction comes at a time when attack on the militant houses at the hands of Forces have drastically escalated.

3 Militant Modules Busted, 9 OGWs Arrested

August 29 The Government Forces on Wednesday claimed to have busted three militant modules operating in the area and made nine arrests in Awantipora area of South Kashmir. Detailing the incident, the Police said that a joint team arrested five members of the module from Awantipora and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession. The arrested people were identified as as Manzoor Ahmad Dar, a resident of Nowpora Arwani, Shahid Manzoor resident of Jawbara Awantipora, Mohammad Hussain, resident of Nowpora Arwani, Zahid Ahmad Dar, resident of Redwani Kulgam and Rizwan Ahmad Pandit, resident of Awantipora. Man Shot at in Tral by Unidentified Gunmen

August 28 unknown persons on Tuesday fired at a civilian in the Zaatak of Lorgam area of Tral belt in South Kashmir's Pulwama District injuring him. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that gunmen fired upon a man identified as Mohammed Amin Malik of Lorigam in Tral area, injuring him seriously. The Person was rushed to the Sub District Hospital in Tral in an injured condition. Hospital Sources confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that Amin has been shot and is being treated at the hospital. Bullet Proof Vehicle Damaged in Militant Attack at Pulwama

August 28 Suspected Militants triggered a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) targeting a bulletproof vehicle in the wee hours of Tuesday in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said. They said the militants triggered the blast on Armulla-Gadbug road at 0300 hrs when a vehicle of Government Forces was passing the area. They said the vehicle was damaged in the blast. However, no one was injured, sources said, adding a massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants. (UNI)

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that, The youth were demanding the special status of Kashmir to be safeguarded, when some youth started throwing stones on Forces deployed in the area. Three Militant hideouts Busted in Pulwama

August 25 The Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have busted three Militant hideouts and recovered incriminating material along with arms and ammunition in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday. The Police in its statement said, “Government Forces busted a hideout from a house in Rajpora Litter and arrested a key OGW (overground worker) from the house. Incriminating material along with IED material was recovered from the hideout." They claimed that two more hideouts had been busted in Khallen and Tahab villages of Pulwama. “We have recovered an AK Magazine, one Magazine & UBGL from these hideouts," the Police said, adding that Three persons working for Hizb were also taken into detention. (The Kashmiriyat)
