Classwork halted for primary classes in Kashmir as heatwave continues

Amid the ongoing heatwave, the Jammu Kashmir administration has suspended the classwork for two days upto primary level in the valley.

As per an official order issued by Div com, of which a copy is available with The Kashmiriyat, Class work in all Govt & Private schools upto primary level shall remain suspended on 29th & 30th July.

The temperatures in the Kashmir valley are hitting new highs with the mercury crossing 36 degrees in Srinagar on Sunday.

Parents of the schoolchildren had been constantly seeking an extension in the summer break for the primary classes in the valley.

The ongoing heatwave has resulted in significant receding of water levels in across the water bodies of the region, while agriculture has taken a massive hit.
