A cloud burst hit the Arpath River today, late noon, and washed away the only bridge made out of an old tree’s trunk due to which Teliwan lost connectivity with hundreds of villagers.
While talking to The Kashmiriyat, a young man from Teliwan, Adil Hussain, said that the construction of the bridge had begun a few years earlier but unfortunately, it was never given a final shape to date.
He added that there was a wooden bridge of some old tree that connected Teliwan with Khundroo etc., and that too was washed away by the stormy water.
Now, due to the cloud burst, Teliwan has lost the connectivity with the rest of the world.
The people of the said area watched losses with helpless eyes.
The agitated people said that they had made several complaints to the concerned department to no avail but to have doors slammed at their faces with the excuses that the department had no funds to finish the project.
The helpless villagers have requested the administration to look into their condition and act accordingly.
