Committed to provide employment to unemployed youth: LG Manoj Sinha

The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that the government is committed to provide employment to the unemployed youth through different schemes.

Speaking on the occasion of an inaugural ceremony of transit camps for PM package employees in Baramulla, Sinha as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that instead of spreading lies and misleading common people like politicians do for getting vote, the administration will ensure development on the grassroots level.

He said that J&K will touch the new horizons.

“I only assure things which are in my possession and I don’t befool common people,” he said.

Sinha while congratulating the executing agency – roads and buildings department for completing the project in a record time said the move will certainly provide a relief to employees who were putting up in different places mostly in insecure areas. “So far 576 flats are being handed over to the employees, however, more 2000 will be given till December end,” he added.

During his visit to Baramulla, Sinha also e-inaugurated the same accommodations for the PM package employees at Shopian and Ganderbal.

He said that 1.5 lakh crore worth highways and tunnels are being executed in J&K.

“Time will come when travel on Srinagar-Jammu will take only 3-4 hours instead of 9-10 hours. Similarly, the Kashmir to Kanyakumari railway project is going to be completed soon,” he said. “Though air traffic is better now as compared to previous times, soon air restrictions will be eased and more flights will be operational in coming times.”

He also said that the government is committed to provide employment to the unemployed youth through different schemes and many youth have already been provided jobs through different schemes.

Chief Secretary Arun kumar Mehta, ADGP Kashmir, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, DDC Chairperson Safeena Beigh, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla besides other senior civil and police officers were present on the occasion.

Expressing happiness, Avtaar Bhat, president of Pandit colony said that the move is going to give them relief.

“We have witnessed the worst in the past and now it seems a time has changed and finally our efforts have led to this moment,” he said.

In September 2021, the foundation stone for the transit camp, spread over 50 kanals of land at Baramulla was laid by Union Minister of AYUSH, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal. The transit camp as per the officials would have 20 blocks and would accommodate as many as 336 families. Every family would get a one-BHK flat—(KNO)
