Covid 19- 718 Persons including 98 Travelers Test Positive- Death Toll is 285- Full Report

The Covid 19 infection is showing a massive upsurge in Jammu Kashmir, despite the authorities taking full-fledged measures to stop its furthering has claimed nine more lives in Jammu Kashmir on Thursday till evening.

Hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat that five more people, all from the Kashmir valley who had been tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic died of the virus, mounting the death toll to 285.

718 persons were tested positive for the novel coronavirus  infections taking the count to 15711. These include 158 persons from Srinagar, Baramulla 29, Kulgam 106, Shopian 109, Anantnag 61, Kupwara 250, Pulwama 55, Budgam 172, Bandipora 49, ganderbal 33, Jammu 47, Kathua 08, Rajouri 15, Udhampur 7, Samba 5, Doda 4, Kishtwar 2, Poonch 5 and Reasi 4, this includes 98 travelers as well.

265 people in Kashmir and 20 in Jammu have died so far due to the covid-19, an official posted at SKIMS told The Kashmiriyat.

He said that those who died of the coronavirus infection include a 57-year-old male from Firdous Abad Batamallo Srinagar, a 55-year-old male from Nawakadal Srinagar, a 52-year-old woman from Zonimar Srinagar, a 46-year old woman from Gazriyal Kupwara, a 60-year old non local resident a 70-year old lady from Uri Baramulla and a 40-year-old from Chinkral Mohalla, Habba Kadal, Srinagar.

The Administration led by Lieutenant Governor has appealed the general public to follow the norms to fight the novel pandemic, Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu also asked people to maintain physical distancing and wear masks.

Meanwhile, the cases continue to see a spike and the current tally is at 16429 positive cases, 7435 cases are active, while 8709 have been Recovered so far

The number of positive cases in India have crossed 12.4 Lakhs, while the death toll has reached 29,861, 37,724 persons have been tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours in India. As per John Hopkins, Globally more than 6,24000 people have died so far due to corona virus with USA having the maximum number of deaths.
