Covid vaccination of teenagers to start from January 03 in Jammu Kashmir

The vaccination campaign will start in Jammu Kashmir on January 3 between the ages of fifteen and eighteen years.

In this, close to one million adolescents will be vaccinated. The Health and Family Welfare Department has started the process to collect the data, officials said.

Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman, Director General, Family Welfare Department, asked the Chief Health Officers and Deputy Chief Health Officers of all the districts to collect accurate data of adolescents between the ages of fifteen and eighteen so that the vaccination can be done accordingly.

According to one estimate, seven percent of the total population of Jammu Kashmir is believed to be between the age of fifteen and eighteen.

Mobile teams have been activated while launching a campaign to strictly implement the instructions related to the prevention of the ongoing global pandemic.

Apart from the teenagers, the health department personnel and frontline workers will also be given a booster dose from January 10.

The officials have said that right now there is no shortage of vaccines in Jammu Kashmir and the issue has been raised by the officials with the Central Government,” the officials said.
