Culminating function of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign organized in Islamabad (Anantnag)

The Department of School Education in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) organized a culminating function of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in the auditorium of Boys Degree Colleg of the area on Wednesday.

The speakers stressed upon the importance of girl child in building a healthy society and a strong nation. ADDC, Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Sofi was a Chief Guest while as Principal of the Govt. Degree College (Boys), was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Joint Director Education South, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, who is also the in charge CEO, Islamabad (Anantnag), in his address detailed about the various kinds of activities done by the department during the last financial year, regarding the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign.

He added that women have proved their metal in all spheres of life and are present generation girls are quite talented and well cultured to face the challenges of modern world with brevity. While addressing the audience, Principal of the College said that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign has proved quite fruitful in creating mass awareness regarding the importance of girls in building a balanced society.

He congratulated the Education Department, Anantnag and other departments for playing their role in making Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign a great success and assured all possible help on behalf of his college in organizing such events as today. ADDC, Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Sofi on the occasion said that district administration is very keen in providing all possible help for empowering the women folk.

He added that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign has been doing very well in the district since the day it was launched nationwide by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. A debate, Natiya competition and a cultural programme was also organized on the occasion and the best performers were awarded with prizes & certificates.

A good number of students, teachers, representatives of Health Departments & volunteers were also participated in the function.
