‘Death to Santa Claus’: In UP, Bajrang Dal burns effigies of Santa Claus

A group of Bajrang Dal members in Agra, Uttar Pradesh burnt down an effigy of Santa Claus and raised “Death to Santa Claus” slogans.

Several videos of Saffron-clad men gathered on a road in Agra went viral on social media. The videos showed the men raising slogans against Santa Claus as they believe that celebrating Christmas in a “Hindu-majority” community is a shame.

In the past too, several Hindutva outfits have gone on a rampage and attacked churches objecting over several things including the usage of loudspeakers. Various Christmas events have also been attacked by the Right-wing Hindu groups.

Earlier, a Santa Claus-costumed man was allegedly attacked by a mob on Tuesday in Vadodara Gujarat.

These incidents are being seen as “another evidence of hatred against minorities.
