Night raids conducted to prevent illegal mining, tractors seized at Gadool

Continuing the raids on transporters/vehicles involved in illegal mining, Tehsildar Kokernag on being informed about the illegal mining activity conducted raid during night hours at around 8:30 pm on 08.03.2022 and instantly approached the spot along with other revenue officials and seized several tractors at Gadol.
No leniency shall be provided to those who are trying to loot the natural resources and cause irreparable damage to the ecology
As per Jammu and Kashmir Minor Mineral Concession, Storage, Transport of Minerals and Prevention of Illegal Mining Rules (2016), only those transporters can transport minor minerals who have proper NOC from Irrigation/Flood Control Department or have challan duly signed by District Mineral Officer.
The raids are conducted in pursuance to the order of worthy Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to prevent such illegal activities in district Anantnag and strict action will be taken against violaters.
