DSEK issues new school timings for Kashmir

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced a significant change in school timings for Schools in the Kashmir Division.

The new timings, which will come into effect from August 12, 2024, have been officially communicated through an order issued on August 10, 2024, of which a copy is available with The Kashmiriyat.

According to the directive, schools within the Srinagar Municipal limits will now operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. For schools located outside the municipal limits of Srinagar and in other areas of the Kashmir Province, the new school timings will be from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The DSEK has stressed that all institutions must strictly adhere to the new schedule.

The order warns that any deviation from these specified timings will be viewed seriously and could result in disciplinary actions against the institutions concerned.

To ensure broad awareness and compliance, the DSEK has circulated this information to several key government departments, including the Principal Secretary to Government, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioners, and Chief Education Officers.
