An encounter has broken out between militants and Government forces at Yawran area of Keller in South Kashmir’s Shopian District.
Official sources earlier told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning 44 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area.
The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants were trapped in a residential house in the area.
A massive exchange of fire is being heard at the site of the encounter, they said.
