An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at the Gundipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday afternoon, a joint group of 55 RR and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in the area launched a cordon and search operation.
During the cordon, the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. 2-3 militants are beleived to be trapped in the area
Meanwhile,Kashmir Police Zone in a tweet confirmed the encounter. “#On the specific input of #KulgamPolice, #encounter has started at #Gundipora area of #Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” they tweeted.
