An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Hairdumir area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A Police official said that on Saturday afternoon 42 RR of the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area.
During the cordon, the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants were trapped in the area.
Sources said that a massive exchange of fire is being heard at the site of the encounter.
