An encounter broke out between militants and Government forces in the Rambagh area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Monday morning.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation on tip off about the movement of militants in this Srinagar area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
The exchange of gunfire is still going on, as per the latest reports.
