An encounter has broken out between militants and government forces in the Bonpora area Sirhama in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday morning 03 RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint launched a cordon and search operation in the Sirhama area.
During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said
Two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a massive exchange of gunfire is on in the Bonpora area of Sirhama.
Meanwhile internet services have been snapped in the Bijbehara area of the south Kashmir district.
