In Yedipora area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, an encounter has started between militants and Government forces.
A Police official said that on Friday morning, 29 RR of Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu Kashmir Police, after receiving inputs about Militant presence laid a cordon and search operation in the area.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a major of Indian Army has been injured during the exchange of fire, the official has been shifted to 92 base hospital of Indian Army in Srinagar.
The cordon continued for nearly an hour, during which the hiding militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat after a brief lull fresh exchange of firing has started between the government forces and militants.
