A 40-year-old man died of an electric shock at his home in the Brah Ranipora area of Shangus in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Family members speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that on Wednesday morning, Abdul Majeed Wagay received an electric shock inside the washroom of his house and fell unconscious.
“Nobody was inside the home when he received the shock. When the family members came to the house he had already passed away,” they said.
A carpenter by profession, Majeed is survived by three daughters and a son, the eldest being a 13-year-old girl.
The Locals gathered in large numbers to attend the funeral of the deceased and asked the local admin to compensate the family that is left with no bread-earner now.
