Fearing for their lives, hundreds of stranded residents of Hargawas area in Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District have demanded evacuation from the area.

Demanding official intervention, the Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the area has received seven feet of snow and has been cut off since the last snowfall in late January. “There is no electricity in the area,”Shabir Ahmed, the local Auqaf president said.

He said that the administration has failed to connect this remote South Kashmir area with Verinag as no snow clearance operations have been undertaken in the area. He said the hospitals have become inaccessible to people.

“We have been resorting to primitive treatments as more than six people have fallen seriously ill from the area,” Shabir told The Kashmiriyat. He said that the last week the residents of the area carried a pregnant lady on a cot for more than 10 kilometers to the hospital.

The authorities have several times claimed that after snow clearance operations they have connected every remote area with the urbans, however the locals of Hargawas strongly denounced this claim.

“We have spoken and requested the administration for clearing off the snow from this area, however nothing has been done as of now,” they said while demanding the intervention of higher ups.buy zithromax generic buy zithromax generic
