Five commercial buildings were gutted in a major fire incident in the Nai Basti area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag town during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
“Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the locals said that at around 1130 PM on Friday, massive flames erupted from one of the structures and later spread to the nearby buildings.”
Locals and the fire workers reached the spot trying to bring the fire under control.
“The fire spread could not be brought under control before five buildings had been turned into ashes,” the locals said.
As per locals, the buildings stationed godowns of businessmen from the Anantnag town.
