Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested five gamblers along with stake money in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement, Baramulla Police said that five gamblers were arrested at Alambal Mirgund Pattan in Baramulla district. The playing cards along with stake money of ₹18,300/- was also recovered. “Baramulla Police received reliable information regarding presence of gamblers at Alambal Mirgund Pattan, Baramulla jurisdiction of Police Post Mirgund, reacting on the information, Police Party of Police Post Mirgund rushed towards spot and arrested seven gamblers from the said spots,” police statement reads.
It further reads as “playing cards alongwith stake money of ₹ 18,300/- were recovered from them.”
The Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Pattan and further investigation is going on.
