Four days after going missing, Kashmiri shawl seller found outside railway station in Uttarakhand

Four days after going missing, A Kashmiri shawl seller who had gone missing from Ludhiana has been found in an injured condition at Haridwar railway station in Uttarakhand.

Confirming that he has been found in Haridwar, one of his family members speaking to The Kashmiriyat over the phone said that Aijaz Ahmed Naik was found in an injured condition outside the Haridwar railway station on Monday night.

“He had been abducted and his goods worth lakhs of rupees have been taken from him. He also had cash of over 10,000 rupees with him which has also been snatched. In fact, the shoes he was wearing have also been taken by his abductors,” he said.

He said that Aijaz Ahmed has been admitted to the hospital, where he is being given first aid treatment.

The family member thanked the Jammu Kashmir Police and the Uttarakhand Police who cooperated with the family in helping them trace Aijaz.

Earlier, The Kashmiriyat reported that  Aijaz Ahmed Naik son of Mohammed Maqbool Naik, who is a resident of Czimmer in Kulgam has been missing since 30 December.

“The last time he called home was from Ludhiana. He said that he needed money after which his phone got switched off,” the family member said.

He said that post the call at around 12 noon from Ludhiana, Aijaz had not contacted them since. “His mobile got switched off and there is no update about him,” he said.
