Four more residential houses ‘used for militancy’ in Kashmir to be attached, Says Police

Two weeks after attaching five residential houses in Srinagar allegedly used for the purpose of militancy, the Jammu Kashmir Police on Sunday said that it will attach for more residential houses in the Kashmir valley.

In a tweet, the Jammu Kashmir Police said that a “sanction” has been accorded by Police headquarters for the “attachment” of four residential houses and “seizure” of threevehicles used for militancy activities in Kashmir.

Taking action on militant support structure under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has accorded sanction for the attachment of 04 residential houses and seizure of 03 vehicles used for providing assistance in militant activities, J&K Police said in a tweet.

A police spokesman on 21st June 21 said, five (05) residential Houses of “willful” harbourers of militants were attached as per section 2(g) and section 25 of UA(P)A.

“These are the houses where it has been proved beyond doubt that these houses were used for purpose of militancy and the shelter/harbour was voluntarily/knowingly given by the member (s) of the house. Many attack on civilians, security forced were conspired and planned by militants while using these houses as hideouts,” he said.

The Jammu Kashmir Police had said, “Some more such houses have been identified and any wilful harbouring will be dealt with full force of law. Citizens are once again requested not to harbour or give shelter to militants, failing which we will be forced to take resort to attachment proceedings. In case of any forced/coercive entry by militants into any house, the matter should be brought to the notice of police immediately,” he said.
