A 4-year-old child was killed in a grenade attack on the house of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Jammu Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday night.
A police officer said that 36-year-old Jasbir Singh and five members of his family received injuries in the attack.
During the attack, six others were injured, who are being treated in the Local hospital.
Two of these were referred to Jammu’s Government Medical College for treatment.
Police officials said that BJP worker Jasbir Singh, his parents and three other relatives were injured in this grenade attack.
The child who died is said to be the nephew of Jasbir Singh.
The grenade was hurled at the house in Khandali area by suspected Militants and it exploded on the terrace, they said.
In the past few days, attacks on politicians, especially those with links to the BJP, have increased in Jammu Kashmir.
Earlier a BJP leader was shot dead by Militants along with his wife in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
