Unknown persons on Monday afternoon hurled a grenade towards the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official said the grenade was hurled at the office of SSP Sopore near main gate town hall, but it missed the target and exploded outside the gate.
However, there were no immediate reports of any injury or damage.
Meanwhile, the government forces have cordoned off the area and a manhunt has been launched to nab to the attackers.
Though the SSP of Police denied any attack having taken place saying that it was a mere firecracker.
