Shouting slogans against the BJP-Led Government, Youth from the Gujjar Bakerwal community staged a protest in Jammu on Wednesday to protest against the demolition drive launched by the administration in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir.

Speaking to the media, one of the protesters, Amir Choudhary said that the demolition drive is illegal an inhumane. “The Government rather than implementing the Forest Rights Act 2006, is evacuating the Gujjar Bakerwal community in various areas.”

He said that the Forest Rights Act is applicable in Jammu Kashmir since article 370 has been established. “The drive is inhumane and the Forest Department without any notice has demolished houses in the Pahalgam area,” Amir said.

Denouncing the demolition drive launched in Pahalgam, which has been exclusively covered by The Kashmiriyat, Amir said that the community is being treated with a step-motherly attitude and such inhumane measures have to be stopped immediately.

The protesters demanded an implementation of Forest Rights Act 2006 with immediate effect.

Pertinently earlier this month the forest Department of Jammu Kashmir administration, Pahalgam Development Authority and Revenue Department had launched a Demolition drive which they claimed was against illegal settlements in the area.

The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, KK Sidha addressing a presser has said that the people had occupied the land illegally and all the encroachments shall be removed.buy Flomax generic buy Flomax generic
