The hailstorm coupled with gusty winds and heavy rainfall damaged crops in several areas in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The apple orchards, paddy fields, and cherry crops were affected in several areas of Boniyar Tehsil in north Kashmir on Sunday afternoon.
Heavy hailstorms and heavy rains that continued for almost five minutes caused heavy losses to the apple crop and other fruit crops, thereby putting farmers in distress.
Meanwhile, the farmers here have appealed to the administration to provide them compensation.
