Huge crowd at Amit Shah’s Baramulla rally, Shutdown in parts of Downtown Srinagar and Baramulla town

Massive crowds of BJP supporters were seen flocking Baramulla Degree college ground on Wednesday where Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a rally during his three-day visit to Jammu Kashmir.

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that BJP cadre from all over Jammu Kashmir including the leaders of the party started reaching Baramulla early on Wednesday morning to hear the speech of the Home Minister.

Enthusiastic BJP workers numbered in thousands raised slogans in favour of PM Modi, BJP and Amit Shah and when Amit Shah paused during his speech for Adhaan it was welcomes by the BJP supporters present in the rally.

Amit Shah in his speech targetted the Abdullahs and Muftis saying that the families had made Kashmir a “hub of terrorism”. He said that Kashmir needs to get rid of these families in the upcoming elections which will be declared soon after the electoral list is out on November 25.

Strict Security arrangements had  been made in parts of north Kashmir as a “precautionary measure”. Nakkas had been enacted at several places where frisking of vehicles was conducted by Government forces.

Meanwhile several areas in Downtown Srinagar and old town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla town observed a shutdown.

Shops were shut in several area of downtown Srinagar too

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that the business activity in Downtown was shut mostly, however, the vehicular movement in the area was thin. In Baramulla, they said, amid tight security arrangements, people shut their shops and other business activity was closed too.
