Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf or PTI – is considering inviting leaders of SAARC countries, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take part in his oath taking ceremony as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, a party official said today.

Imran Khan’s party has emerged as the single largest party in Pakistan’s national assembly after the July 25 general election in the country.

Khan, 65, has said that he would take oath as Pakistan’s prime minister on August 11.

“The core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is considering inviting the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) heads including Modi and a decision on this is expected shortly,” a leader from Imran Khan’s party told news agency PTI (Press Trust of India).

Earlier Modi Narendra Modi spoke to Imran Khan, Chairperson of PTI and congratulated him for his party emerging as the largest political party in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

Although PTI has emerged as the single largest party in the National Assembly in the July 25 polls, it is short of numbers to form its government independently.

To meet the required number of votes, the PTI leadership has reportedly approached the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, the Grand Democratic Alliance, PML-Quaid and the Balochistan Awami Party, as well as Independents.
