India Needs to Learn Lessons of Love from Kashmir, Nobody Touched Indians here- Ummat e Islami

February 22

The Jammu Kashmir Ummat e Islami today condemned the attacks on Kashmiris in various states of India and called the attacks as handiwork of ruling Bhartiya Janta Party. He said the BJP is trying to garner votes by gathering people in the name of nationalism, just before elections.

in a presser issued to The Kashmiriyat, UEI said, The leaders of Ummat e Islami in various South Kashmir mosques paid rich tributes to deceased cleric, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan. Special prayers were held for the cleric who passed away on Tuesday after brief illness. His religious and social services were highlighted while paying glowing tributes to the deceased cleric.

Ummat e Islami condemning the inhumane attacks on Kashmiris said that the hate mongers need to learn lessons of Peace from Kashmiris. “When Kashmiris were being attacked by faceless mobs throughout India, not even a single non Kashmiri was touched or harassed here in Kashmir,” the party general secretary, Waheed Ahmed Khan said.

Condemning the attacks he said that BJP is trying to gather votes under a nationalist and a communal flag, so that it can garner votes from the wave generated against all Kashmiris. He said such attacks will only intensify one’s path to justice.

While thanking the SIkh community and Kashmiris living outside Kashmir, He said that hundreds of Kashmiri students have returned home and have been provided food and accommodation in the time of need by dozens of Kashmiris who are living outside Kashmir. “Kashmiris settled in Delhi and other cities of India, opened their doors for these threatened students and helped their way to Kashmir,” he said. He also thanked the Sikh community.

He said that Kashmir inmates are being harassed in various jails outside Kashmir. Meanwhile, a team of Ummat e Islami visited the families of slain Abid Ahmed Naik who was recently killed in an encounter with Indian Forces in Pulwama.

The party also demanded the release of Qazi Yasir, Sarjan Barkati, Aijaz Noori, Shakeel Bakshi, Khursheed Ahmed and other political prisoners.

Qazi Ahmed Yasir was booked under PSA in October last year ahead of elections for giving a call of Redwani Chalo and asking his workers to put Azadi ballot boxes outside polling booths.

Aijaz Noori was arrested in November last year for his speeches and leading funerals of Militants.

Sarjan Barkati was arrested in 2016 October for leading pro Freedom rallies in South Kashmir while Khurshid Ahmed was arrested in November 2017 for sheltering slain Lashkar commander, Bashir Lashkar.
