The competition is being organized at a time when the Jammu Kashmir remains under a lockdown amid the growing cases of coronavirus in the region, the valley in particular (Kashmir) has been under a lockdown post August kast year when the Government of India abrogated the special status of Jammu Kashmir.
The occasion will be after a long time that Indian and Pakistani authors are coming together to judge an event, the countries are witnessing a deadlock in their relations especially post 2016 when the Uri attack happened, in which many soldiers of Indian Army were killed.
Dozens of soldiers from both the sides have been killed along the Line of Control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan in a never ending shelling, the Asian neighbors accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.
