Jaish Commander Kaiser Koka likely among two militants killed in Awantipora encounter, Says Police

Two militants belonging to JeM have been killed in a gunfight that broke out between militants and government forces at Wandakpora village of Awantipora area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Monday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of police, Army and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operations in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. He said during exchange of fire, one militant has been killed while as operation is on in the area.

Meanwhile AGDP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said JeM Commander Kaiser Koka active since 2018 is trapped in the encounter.
