Jammu Kashmir dominance: 46 medals, including 14 golds, in National Games

Jammu Kashmir athletes achieved a historic feat, securing a remarkable 46 medals during the 37th National Games, which concluded on Friday in Goa.

The journey to success began with silver medals in rhythmic gymnastics, paving the way for an outstanding performance across various events, resulting in a total of forty-six medals – fourteen gold, fourteen silver, and eighteen bronze, as reported by The Daily Excelsior.

The J&K team demonstrated their prowess by securing positions among the top 12 performers in the national games.

Advisor R.R Bhatnagar lauded the contingent, attributing their success to unwavering dedication and indomitable spirit.

According to The Daily Excelsior, he remarked, “The countless hours of rigorous training, strategizing, and hard work you have put into honing your craft have paid off in the most glorious fashion.”

Sarmad Hafeez, Commissioner Secretary of the Youth Services and Sports Department, expressed immense pride in witnessing J&K players excel on the national stage, thereby bringing glory to the Union Territory.

He stated, “The athletes have showcased their exceptional skill levels and coupled their passion with determination and commitment to bring laurels to J&K.”

Nuzhat Gull, Secretary of the Sports Council, commended each member of the victorious team for displaying unparalleled sportsmanship, passion, and commitment.
