JK Police Continues Its War Against Drugs in Kashmir, Arrests 4

The Jammu Kashmir police, continuing their campaign against the drug addiction in Kashmir, destroyed a cannabis field of 15 kanals of land in Bandipore.

The Police also arrested four people with drugs in Sopore.

A police spokesperson said that in Rakhkh Shilwat, Wangipora and another village adjacent to it near Suumbal in Bandipore, the police, along with a team from the Excise Department, campaigned against cannabis cultivation. Police destroyed cannabis cultivation grown on about 15 kanals of land in these villages. However, no one has been arrested in this connection.

Meanwhile, the policemen stationed at the block near the Panjala Government School in Sopore stopped two youth riding motorcycles without number plates. They have been identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone resident Balhama Panjala and Mohammad Latif Tantray resident Darshanpora Handwara.

When the police searched both of them, they got 240 grams of charas from their possession. Both were arrested at the same time.

In Hagam area of Sopore, the police have arrested a drug trader named Altaf Hussain Mir. The police have caught a large consignment of banned drugs from him. Further action will be taken against him after registering a case at Taraju Police Station.
