In yet another attack on freedom of press, the Government Force personnel on Sunday morning assaulted a journalist near Islamia College in Srinagar’s Hawal area.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat Adil Hussain, a journalist working with Kashmir Thunder said that the CRPF men rounded him near the Islamia College near Hawal and thrashed without any provocation.
“I even displayed my press identity card to the CRPF men, but they abused me and started beating me,” Adil told The Kashmiriyat, adding that he tried to make them understand that he was working with media, but they continued abusing and thrashing me.
In the past too, journalists have been thrashed while performing their professional duties.
