Judges are a part of the society, They should not become tools of occupation, Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir

The Ummat e Islami in a meeting today at its headquarters in Islamabad condemned the arrest of its chairman, Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed Yasir. Mirwaiz Yasir was arrested from his home late night on Wednesday.

“The Frequent arrests of Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed Yasir are an indication that the regional Government is fearful of the growing influence of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir in South Kashmir, which once the regional government claimed to be its fortress,” the general secretary of Ummat e Islami said. Mir Muntazir Gul also said that lies of the state are exposed with the arrest of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir. “He led a peaceful massive rally in Khudwani on Friday, why was he arrested after that,” he said.

He said on one side the regional Government claims to be providing space for political leaders peacefully and on the other side it caged Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir. The Regional Government in frustration as it is loosing its control over the ground and the chairs they tightly stuck to, are on the verge of a fall, he said.

The Spokesman while quoting Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that the judicary should not equate the cases of criminals and the pro Freedom people. Mirwaiz Yasir has said that judges are a part of the society and they must know that any youth have been falsely implicated in anti state cases. “judges have a moral resposibilty to not become tools of occupation, ” Mirwaiz said.

He said that youth who miss one hearing in the courts are being sent to judicial custody on the very next hearing, which is quite disgusting. The regional Governments amensty is similary a hoax, he said. “People who are implicated in many cases have been granted amnesty in one of them or two, which does not make any sense as the youth still have to go to the courts for hearing and are facing the brute of the courtrooms,” Mirwaiz Yasir said.

The Members of Ummat e Islami demanded the immediate release of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir and other boys lodged in the Police station Sadr. “At Least 12 young boys have been detained and their families have been waiting outside the Police station demanding their release,” Waheed Ahmed Khan said.
