Kashmir Custodial Killing- Shutdown, Protest in Parts of Kashmir Valley

Various parts of the Old city in Srinagar and Maisuma area of Lal Chowk is observing a spontaneous shutdown against the death of a school teacher from Awantipora in police custody on Tuesday.

Shoppers downed their shutters in downtown areas of Srinagar and in Awantipora, Pampore and Sangam to observe protest against the alleged custodial killing.

Rizwan Ahmad died in the police custody days after being arrested by the NIA slueths.

Clashes erupted in parts of Kashmir valley as soon as the news of custodial killing of Rizwan who was also a teacher spread among the Locals.

Mobile internet services were also snapped in parts of the Kashmir valley.

The Former chief Ministers, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti demanded action against the cops accused of committing the crime as Police requested for magisterial probe into the incident.
