Sources told The Kashmiriyat that no vehicles plied on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway on Sunday as hundreds of Government Force personnel stood guard to prevent vehicular movement on the national Highway.
Government Force personnel deployed on the Highway cleared the highway of public vehicles and other private transport early morning on Sunday near Awantipora, Qazigund, Khanabal, Sangam and in Pampore, Sources said.
Meanwhile the local administration has said that people in emergency will be allowed to travel on the National Highway even on Sundays and Wednesdays, though they did not define an emergency.
