Renowned Kashmiri Artisan Ghulam Mohammed Zaz has been conferred with the Padma Shri award by President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday.
Ghulam Mohammad Zaz received the Padma Shri award in the category of art during the civil official ceremony in recognition of his exceptional abilities as a Kashmiri craftsman.
A master craftsman from Kashmir, Ghulam Mohammad Zaz specializes in creating handmade musical instruments like the Rabab, Sitar, and Santoor. He is well known both in India and abroad for his contribution to the creation of high-quality musical instruments.
The awards Padma Vibushan, Padma Bhushan and Padmashri were granted to more than 50 persons in New Delhi by the Indian President.
