Kashmiri ‘Militant’ arrested in ‘covert operation’ in New Delhi: CIK

Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Thursday said to have arrested a militant in a covert operation in national capital Delhi.

“Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) in a secret/covert operation arrested a militant in a case vide FIR number 02/2024 of police station CIK from Delhi who was/is involved in militant funding and having links with militants/handlers of banned militant organization(s) sitting across the LOC,” said a CIK Spokesperson in a statement issued to the local news agency Kashmir Bulletin.

The case, the spokesperson said, was registered in Police Station CIK and relates to providing logistic support to militants of banned militant organization(s) active in UT of J&K by variety of means including providing/passing on funds to them for carrying militant activities Jammu Kashmir.

“This money is being routed through various means from across LOC then pushed into India through their couriers, which included arrested accused Parvez Ahmad Khan with multiple aliases as PK, Sheikh Tajamul Islam and Khalid, son of Bashir Ahmad Khan, resident of Farooq Colony, Bemina, Srinagar, who was arrested in Delhi by a investigating team of CIK in collaboration with CID cell Delhi and Delhi Police.”

“The operation was planned at CIK Headquarters a few days ago and the accused militant was on surveillance (both technical and physical),” the Spokesperson said, adding, “The accused was hiding and evading arrest and was planning to abscond from the present location.”

“The arrest was made in compliance with a “warrant of arrest” issued by a competent court at Srinagar.”

The arrested militant, the spokesperson said, will be produced before a competent court at Srinagar after his transit from Delhi to Srinagar for which transit remand has been obtained from Delhi Court.
