Kashmir’s laughter king ‘Bashir Kotur’ craves for a smile

Bashir Ahmad Bhat, alias ‘Bashir Kotur’, a known figure from Hanji Pora, Wathora hamlet in central Kashmir’s in Budgam district, who is known for his talent of making people laugh, is passing through the challenging phase of his life as the latter is craving for a smile on his face as he is suffering from an acute disease.

According to local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bashir Kotur is suffering from an acute disease and has sought public support for the treatment to combat the disease.

Bashir while making an appeal to the general public said that he is suffering from an acute disease and wants the public support for his treatment. “I appeal to the people to help me to combat the disease so that I would again come alive as the famous artist and make people laugh again,” he said.

As per the reports, Bashir Kotur met with an accident at Chadoora area in March 2022 following which he was referred to Khyber Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment as his arm bone got crushed.

However, since then, Bashir Kotur is struggling hard to conquer the fight with life. “Till today, I was making people laugh in stage dramas, marriage functions and on Television programmes. I have won many awards as well, but after the decline in work, I worked as a labourer, street vendor to run the family affairs,” he said in a short video clip that went viral on social media platforms as well.

Nonetheless, he said that due to the acute disease, he is now feeling helpless and wants the people to support him to fight the disease and come alive again as the famous artist.
