Kulgam Police continuing unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society arrested two Drug Smugglers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Qaimoh led by SHO Qaimoh Insp Museer Asghar under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Shri Govind Rattan-JKPS established a Naka at Khudwani Crossing and during Naka checking one vehicle (Taveera) bearing registration Number JK01V-3770 was intercepted and during the search 10 Kg of Poppy Straw was recovered from the possession of two persons namely, Mohd Shariq Shah S/O Ghulam Jeelani Shah R/O Heshipora Chadoora & Sajad Ahmad Malik S/O Mohd Amin Malik R/O Nowpora Chadoora, ferrying in the said vehicle.
Both the accused were arrested along with contraband substance and vehicle used in the commission of crime were seized.
Regarding the incident case with FIR NO. 92/2021 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Qaimoh and investigation has been taken up.
Public is requested to come forward and extend cooperation to Police and any information regarding anti-social activity may be shared with the Police so that timely action can be taken against the culprits.
