Locals of Anantnag Town Aghast as Admin Yet to Clear Snow ‘for First times in many Years’

various areas of the Islamabad (anantnag) town in South Kashmir have remained cut off for the second consecutive day on Tuesday amid heavy snowfall.

A group of Locals from the Hazratbal area of the main town speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that it was for the first time in several years that the administration has not cleared the roads in the town leading to several problems including the movement of public towards hospitals.

They said that it was not for the first time that it snowed in the Kashmir valley, but for the first time the locals of the area are facing such tremendous problems as nobody had come to clean off the streets.

The Kadipora locality and the parts of KP road in the town are also covered with snow, locals told The Kashmiriyat, adding that the same has resulted in many problems to the residents.

Meanwhile the Officials said that in the view of heavy snowfall the admin has taken precautionary measures and the snowing has not stopped yet, “It is getting tough to make the process of snow removal swift, we have removed snow from majority of the areas,” he said.
