Ayesha Takia, Husband ‘Singled out’, Harassed by security personnel at Goa Airport

Famous Bollywood actor, Ayesha Takia and her husband Farhan Azmi took to social media to express their anguish after being stopped at Goa Airport.

Ayesha was traveling along with her husband and son, Mikhail from Goa to Mumbai when the incident took place.

The two were “Singled out” and faced immense harassment when an officer read their names from their boarding passes. A male officer also tried to touch the Bollywood female actor.

Farhan Azmi who is also the son of Samajwadi Party leader took to his Twitter alleging, “I was boarding for Mumbai on @IndiGo6E 6386, 18:40 hrs flight & these racist officers R P Singh, A K Yadav, commander Rout & senior officer (SP category) Bahadur purposely singled me & my family (wife & son) immediately after they read out my name out loud to the team and senior officer Bahadur purposely singled him and his family while they were boarding for Mumbai at Goa Airport.”

He said that the altercation started when an armed male officer at the security desk tried to physically touch & tell my wife, and son to stand in another line while all other families were standing together for security. “All I said to him is to dare touch any female & maintain distance,” he alleged.

A sexual comment was also made by an officer who was checking his pockets,” he alleged.

He said that within minutes five other officers including a senior named Bahadur who instead of resolving the issue, identified me with my boarding pass & pushed me saying “isko udhar karo,ye  maharashtra nahin hai”,went on to announce my name to all of them & refused to let me through

Meanwhile responding to the ordeal, Goa airport expressed its regret and tweeted that the matter shall be duly looked into.
