Shopian Media Association (SMA) on Friday held its first ever election and selected Malik Irshad of News 18 Urdu as the president of the association.

According to a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, this was the first ever election held in the Shopian in which all journalists of the district participated and formed the new election body.
Shahid Tak, Bharat was elected General Secretary of the media association Shopian.
Ahead of the elections, a body was also formed to look at all election activities.
