The Member Legislative Assembly from Bijbehara constituency and National Conference leader, Bashir Ahmad Veeri, was has been released after being detained for questioning at Srinagar airport.
Earlier, MLA Veeri was on his way to Jammu during the normal scanning of his baggage at the airport two rounds of ammunition were found in his bag.
Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri has confirmed that he has been released after being shortly detained for questioning at the Srinagar airport.
“I have been released after proper verification at the airport. The ammunition found in my bag belonged to my own weapon which is licensed by the officials. It had mistakenly gotten into my bag,” he confirmed, adding that after proper verification certification at a Police station, he has been set free.
