On October 17, 2023, in Mauja Nidhooli, Tehsil Dhaolana, Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh, Muhammad Nadim bin Babu became the victim of an appalling assault perpetrated by a group of Hindu extremist individuals from the nearby village of Hay.
Identified as Bini Sharma, Deepanshu Sharma, Prince Sharma, and others, the attackers forcibly took Nadim from Nidhooli to Milkalpur, Solana, subjecting him to a night of relentless physical abuse with sharp weapons. To escalate the cruelty, they submerged Nadim’s face in water after hanging him upside down in a tubewell, causing water to fill his stomach.
Tragically, Nadim was critically wounded in this attack after which his lifeless body was disposed of in the jungles of Nidhooli that same night. Presently, Nadim remains on life support at Rama Hospital in Pulkhawa, fighting for survival.
The assailants, fueled by their Hindu extremist beliefs, have openly glorified their actions on social media, even hinting at repeating similar atrocities in the future. Nadim, a father of two children, comes from a financially struggling family.
Despite the police registering a case against the perpetrators as minors, there has been a delay in taking swift action. Shockingly, the authorities have cautioned Nadim’s family against sharing the incident on social media.”
