Mohammed Yaseen Malik Wednesday was sentenced to life by an NIA court in New Delhi.
The court pronounced the judgment at around 6:15 PM and sentenced the JKLF chairman to life imprisonment in a ‘Militancy funding case.
Yasin had said told the court that he will not contest any charges leveled against him.

Yasin Malik, 54, is lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail after he was arrested under the Public Safety Act in March 2019, but a month later his custody was shifted to National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a two-year-old case of “militant and separatist funding”.
According to a news report by CNN News 18, Yasin Malik had told his lawyers back in Kashmir that he does not want any trouble for them, so he will not want any of them to plead their case amid the “massive crackdown” in Kashmir.
Another report by ABP news said that Yasin Malik told the special NIA Judge that he will not beg for justice. “I will not beg to you for ‘Justice’, Do whatever you feel is right’.
The NIA court had framed charges against Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin and others for hatching a criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country, and other unlawful activities.
Pakistan also summoned India’s Charge d’Affaires here to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and handed over a demarche to him conveying Islamabad’s strong condemnation of the framing of “fabricated charges” against Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik.
The British parliament had stated that it was “closely” monitoring the trial of the JKLF chairman.
