An encounter has broken out between militants and government forces in Chewkalan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday evening 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint launched a cordon and search operation in the Chewkalan area of Pulwama.
During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said
Two militants are believed to be trapped.
As per the latest report, intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on.
